Danfoss VLT 5000 is discontinued. Here's what's actually still possible.
The VLT 5000 is a legacy Danfoss drive series Danfoss itself now classifies as inactive. Unlike some obsolete platforms, Danfoss provides a clear, official upgrade path — the FC 302 with matching adapter plates — which makes retrofit unusually straightforward when the goal is a permanent fix. For a fast, cheap stopgap, used VLT 5000 units and repair of the existing drive both remain realistic first options.
