Critical Parts Intelligence
One missing part should never force you to replace expensive equipment.
Upload a nameplate or component photo. Criticore identifies the part and maps the possible sourcing paths — repair, refurbishment, surplus, used stock, cross-reference or OEM successor — so your team can decide before replacing the whole asset. The qualification is free — and honest.
When one part blocks expensive equipment, it sounds like this:
If any of these sound familiar, you don't have to start from zero. Check a case free →
Heard this before?
“That series is discontinued — we recommend a new unit.”
The standard OEM answer. But obsolete components live on globally: refurbished exchange units, surplus stock and dismantled equipment.
Check your case →“Lead time is 8–12 weeks.”
Downtime costs more than the part. We work the channels that can deliver tested units in days — not quarters.
Check your case →“The spare part costs almost as much as new equipment.”
The official channel's list price is rarely the only price. Refurbished, used and repaired typically run at 5–20% of it.

A phone photo of the type plate is enough — manufacturer, model, serial. Add what the dealer said and the replacement quote if you have them. No part number needed.
We identify the part & possible paths
Free qualification: what the component is, which sourcing paths are realistic — repair, refurb/exchange, surplus, used, cross-reference, OEM successor — and an honest answer on whether paid research is worth it.
You decide
Stop here for free. Or order the Sourcing Report (48h), Urgent Global Sourcing when the machine is down — or put your site on a Coverage plan before the next emergency.
Your technician verifies
Before anything is ordered or installed, your own technician checks fit: mounting, ratings, connections. Nothing goes past the person who knows the machine.
What a Criticore case looks like
The two-speed motor from the 1970s
A production machine's drive motor burns out. The brand no longer exists; the machine builder quotes a new drive section at €18,000 — 6 weeks lead time. From one nameplate photo, Criticore identifies the exact motor, its OEM successor, and maps the paths: rewind of the existing unit, refurbished exchange, used stock, or a modern cross-reference. The strongest path in this scenario: rewind at €2,400–€3,200, 5–8 working days— verified by the customer's own electrician before anything is ordered.
Replacement alternative
€18,000
Repair path + report fee
≈ €4,150
Outcomes vary per case. Availability and price are only certain when a supplier confirms in writing.
Packaging line, food production
Obsolete frequency drive. OEM quote: new motor control at €24,000, 6-week lead time.
→ Refurbished exchange drive located at a German specialist — tested, with warranty.
€560 · delivered in 3 days
Ventilation system, commercial property
Control board discontinued. Consultant recommended a new air handling unit at €45,000.
→ Board repaired by an industrial electronics specialist; spare board secured from surplus stock.
€870 · running again the same week
Walk-in cold room, hotel
Compressor controller dead, model discontinued. Stock at risk, downtime €1,600/day.
→ Modern cross-referenced controller identified — verified and installed by the customer's refrigeration technician.
€390 · solved in 48 hours
Today we work primarily with production equipment, refrigeration/HVAC, commercial kitchens and building systems — the platform handles all non-certification-regulated industrial equipment.
Built for the people who keep machines running
Use Criticore when…
- ✓ A discontinued or long-lead-time component is blocking equipment that is expensive to replace
- ✓ The OEM or dealer says “replace the whole unit” and you want the alternatives checked first
- ✓ You have a nameplate or photos, but no part number and no sourcing path
- ✓ Procurement is burning hours searching markets they don't know
- ✓ You run old-but-critical machines and want a backup path ready before the next failure
Don't use Criticore when…
- · The part is current and your regular supplier can deliver it at a fair price — just buy it
- · The equipment is certification-regulated: gas, pressure, elevators, fire/life-safety, medical, vehicle safety, aircraft, load-bearing — we decline these automatically and refer you to certified specialists
- · You need someone to install or approve the part — that is your technician's role, not ours
- · You expect a guarantee that a part will be found — honest answer: sometimes it can't be. You pay for the documented investigation, and the free qualification tells you the odds first
Your technician stays in control. We deliver the paths.
Criticore finds and documents the options: what the component is, where equivalents or repairs may be possible, at what indicated price and lead time — with the suppliers' own compatibility statements. Your technician verifies fit before anything is ordered or installed; they know the machine, and nothing goes past them. We don't certify parts, we don't install, and we don't promise availability before a supplier confirms it in writing. We never sell a report we don't believe in.

Coverage plans are optional — everything is also available pay-per-case. All plans have monthly usage limits and fair-use terms: deep sourcing is metered in every plan, never unlimited. Coverage is priority access and preparedness, not insurance — it does not guarantee part availability and does not compensate for downtime. Plans start by agreement: we set up sites, users and invoicing with you directly.
Questions & honest answers
Who verifies that the component fits?+
Your own technician, installer or service partner — always. Criticore delivers sourcing intelligence: identification, channels, prices, lead times and the suppliers' own compatibility statements. We never certify compatibility and never perform installation. That is a deliberate liability boundary, and it is stated in the report itself.
What exactly are we paying for?+
Structured research: identification of the component, a systematic investigation of the global channels, and one document an operations manager can make a decision on. A documented “this component cannot be sourced — replace with confidence” is also an actionable result. That is why the report is paid regardless of outcome — but the qualification is free and honest: if we assess the odds as poor upfront, we advise against ordering before you pay anything.
Is a part guaranteed to be found?+
No — and anyone who guarantees that is selling you something else. Prices and lead times in a report are supplier indications; availability is only certain when the supplier confirms your order in writing. What we commit to is the investigation, the documentation, and an honest recommendation — including “don't pay us” when the case doesn't justify it.
Do we need a Coverage plan to use Criticore?+
No. Every product is available pay-per-case, starting with the free qualification. Coverage plans exist for teams that want to be ready before the next emergency: priority handling, monthly qualification allowances, report credits and their case history in one place. All plans have monthly usage limits — deep sourcing is metered in every plan, never unlimited.
Is Coverage a kind of insurance?+
No. Coverage is preparedness and priority access — faster lanes, prepared sourcing paths and standing discounts. It does not compensate for downtime, does not guarantee part availability, and does not pay out anything. If a part cannot be sourced, the report documents that honestly, plan or no plan.
What equipment do you not handle?+
Certification- and safety-critical categories are declined automatically: aircraft, medical devices, vehicle safety systems (brakes/steering), gas-carrying components, pressure vessels, elevators, fire and life-safety systems, and load-bearing structures. Those cases are referred to certified professionals.
How fast do we get answers?+
The qualification is instant. The sourcing report is delivered within 48 hours on business days. For urgent cases (equipment down), Urgent Global Sourcing contacts all channels actively with a first status within 8 business hours.
Why not just search ourselves?+
You can — and sometimes that's enough. But the real channels for obsolete industrial components are fragmented: German exchange houses, UK obsolete-parts specialists, surplus brokers, board-repair shops and dismantlers. Our job is to know them, work them systematically, and document the result so you can make one procurement decision on one basis.
